— NSW Rural Fire Service warning reported on 2 January 2020
Batlow sits in the apple country of the Snowy Valleys, about 775 metres above sea level. In January 2020, the Dunns Road fire threatened the town and residents were urged to leave while it was safe to do so.
“Do It For Batlow” became a rallying call for people who wanted to support the town. The community response grew into an organisation focused on Batlow and its future.
We are community-led and practical: local people, volunteers and supporters working together for a town worth backing.
